LAWTECH CAREER FAIR

On Friday, 28th October 2022, Strathmore Law School through the Policy & Innovation Center (PIC), hosted the first-ever Lawtech Career Fair in partnership with Young Lawyers In Tech, Anjarwalla & Khanna Anjarwalla|ALN, HiiL Innovation Hub East Africa.

Over the past decade, Kenya has grown to become the Tech Hub for East Africa with giants like Microsoft, Visa and Google launching product development and innovation centres in the country. We have also witnessed millions of dollars in funding being poured into homegrown tech start-ups thus gaining the #SiliconSavannah title.

Educational institutions are therefore challenged to develop curriculums that support technology and innovation with the aim of creating a high-quality talent ready to take up these opportunities. We thus came together to promote the training, capacity building and opportunity exposure of the next generation of young lawyers ready to explore the unlimited opportunities in technology and innovation.

We had informative panel discussions that explored several areas of technology and innovation law namely: Data Protection, Digital Rights & Internet Governance; Fintech, Blockchain & AI; Legal technology & Innovation as well as Intellectual Property.
